Reynaldo Gonzalez is a Guatemalan Union Leader prominent in the struggle of Latin American workers against the ongoing neo-liberal assault. He will be touring the U.S. and Canada in July, 2001, to meet with his U.S. and Canadian counterparts. He is a member of the executive of the Unity of Labor and Popular Action (UASP). Gonzalez played a key role as Guatemalan delegate to the 89th World Conference of the International Labor Organization (ILO - OIT) in June, 2001, where he was instrumental in having Guatemala sanctioned for the regressive changes, which it recently made to its labor code.
